Proposed Maryland Pharmacy Technician Training Program
A controlled employer-based training pathway is in development for CareCompass Pharmacy. The program is not open for active enrollment and may not operate as Board-approved until written approval is received.
Program safeguards
Approval, scope, and activation are controlled.
Board approval required
CareCompass will not present the program as approved or activate trainees until written approval is received for the controlled version.
Enrollment remains closed
Portal accounts may be used for controlled testing or administrative preparation; an account does not equal program admission.
Direct pharmacist supervision
Any future delegated pharmacy activity must stay within Maryland law, the approved curriculum, and direct pharmacist supervision.
Version-controlled records
Curriculum, assessments, competencies, attendance, and approvals are maintained as controlled program records.
Proposed design
Built around active learning and documented competence.
The final approved structure will be published only after Board review. The proposed model includes:
- Instructor-led didactic learning with active participation
- Structured simulation and guided practice
- Supervised experiential training at the approved site
- Knowledge assessments, remediation, and competency validation
- Attendance, time, evidence, and approval records
Learner access
The learner portal is separate from the public pharmacy website.
Current invited testers and authorized administrators may use the portal. New accounts remain subject to review and do not create trainee status.
